Bio: Although you’d never know it, stand up comedy wasn’t always in the cards for this blue collar guy. Born and raised in Syracuse, New York, he spent over a decade running flooring businesses, building pools, installing floors, and running men’s basketball leagues before returning to college for journalism in his late 20’s. He’s worked as a writer ever since, primarily for sports publications and websites, while sprinkling in various other genres along the way.

Frustrated by the humor restraints the sports writing field imposed upon him, he decided to start leaning towards writing opportunities that offered more comedic expression. He began focusing on comedy by collaborating with other writers and authors on various comedy projects. By late August of 2010, he decided to take his brand of humor to Twitter. He quickly developed a large following with his cutting edge and witty comedic quips, and in a few short months he had already made the Favstar Top 50 List of Funny and Insightful Tweeters, as determined by tweet popularity. The instant success and popularity his humor achieved on Twitter led him into stand up comedy, where his gritty, dry, and sarcastic views and wise cracks became an immediate hit with audiences.

After 8 months of daily interaction with other comedians on Twitter, he decided to put together a comedy team to do stand up performances as a group, and just like that the Twirty Dozen was born. Highlighted by the brilliant Sean Kent, the Twitter Dozen is a combination of 12 core comedians, as well as numerous guest comedians banding together to combine their contrasting comedy styles into one show that keeps crowds laughing from start to finish. The Twirty Dozen will be performing at numerous comedy clubs, theaters, and fundraising events, but one of the main objectives Jamie had when creating the project was to bring the Twitter community closer together by holding large privately run tweet-up comedy events centered around the Twirty Dozen comedy show. It’s an opportunity for professional comedians, amateur comedians, and also casual users to all get together for an exciting evening of mingling and laughter.

A single father to his 3 year old son, Jamie continues to work as a comedy and sports writer, while furthering his career as a stand up comedian. To contact Jamie for booking, writing offers, Twirty Dozen guest comedian information, reserved seating for Twirty Dozen comedy events, or general information regarding The Twirty Dozen and upcoming Twirty Dozen comedy events, email him at TwirtyDozen@aol.com.
